Chargrilled Pork Banh Mi

May 17th, 2016 by katie

This is my favorite way to enjoy a really good, really really good, baguette.  This is the one to make on grocery day when your herbs are still perky and your baguette still warm from the bakery.  The chargrilled pork couldn’t be simpler so mix up your spicy mayo and quick pickled veggies first because as soon as the pork comes off the grill you’ll be ready to eat.

Rakesh’s Chicken Dum Biryani

May 8th, 2016 by katie

So I did a neat thing.  I went to and found some other people in my town who like to cook and we got together and we cooked!  We talked about food and we learned a new recipe and we had so. much. fun.  I can’t wait to do it again.

So this is one of those recipes that isn’t exactly hard, but takes a little attention and time.  It isn’t quick or easy but we did make it start to finish in about 90 minutes.  And it is so good.  Spicy but not too hot, interesting and different but not inaccessible.  Rakesh says you should make it over and over again until you have it perfected.  I completely agree.

Roasted Tomatillo and Turkey Chili with White Beans

May 31st, 2015 by katie

This is a great, quick green chili made super easy with ground turkey breast.  It also happens to be low-fat and full of protein, not that you’re in to that kind of thing.  😉

You can serve it with cornbread, garlic toast, brown rice or straight-up but don’t skip the sour cream! Click here for the recipe »

About chaos

cha·os -noun 1. a condition or place of great disorder or confusion. My chaotic kitchen is the result of three kids, two adults, dog, cat, and fish, a food obsession, a wine drinking hobby, and too few hours in the day. Between trying to feed a family of five healthy, happy meals, watching my weight, saving my pennies, and staying partially sane I have picked up a few tricks along the way. So here they are: the very best tips, tricks, and recipes from my chaotic kitchen-to yours!
